You're In!

Congratulations on becoming The Newest & Truest Patriot in the DBU Family! So what's next?

Step 1: Brag About It!

Okay, you're all set! Now it's time to shout it from the rooftops! Snag a wallpaper for your phone, a fresh Facebook cover, and tell the world how pumped you are to be a Patriot! (And be sure to tag us, we can't wait to see! @dbuadmissions @dbupatriots)

Step 2: Visit Campus

Ask just about anyone at DBU and they will probably say the same thing: the first time they stepped on campus, they fell in love.

If you haven't gotten a chance to experience it for yourself, we would love to show you around! Schedule a tour on a day that works best for you!

Step 3: Confirm your Enrollment

You must confirm your enrollment by clicking below and paying the $300 Enrollment Fee. This must be completed before you are able to submit a Housing Application, register for New Patriot Orientation, or enroll in classes. If you have already paid the Enrollment Fee, skip ahead to Step 4!

Step 4: Register for New Patriot Orientation

You're already accepted, but let's make things official at New Patriot Orientation! The event will be filled with getting everything ready for you to start college in the fall, complete with a favorite DBU tradition, your one and only chance to "ring the bell" and OFFICIALLY become a part of the DBU Family!

Head to the New Patriot Orientation (NPO) page to find the date that works best with your schedule, then click on the date to register!

Step 5: Set up your MyDBU Account

Congratulations on your acceptance!! Upon your acceptance, you should have received an email from the MyDBU portal inviting you to set up your account. (Be sure you're checking the personal email address you listed on your admissions application!)

Your MyDBU account will become your one-stop-shop for so many things! Through it, you will be able to easily access things like Self-Service (where you will register for classes and accept your financial aid award), Blackboard (which contains the online component for all your classes), your student email, and more.

Need any help? The DBU Information Technology Division is here for you! Give them a ring at (214) 333-5500.

Step 6: Apply for Financial Aid and Access Private Scholarships

A Christ-centered education is an incredibly valuable investment, but we know paying for college can be a challenge. Because of that, we want to work with you through the process, keep things as simple as possible, and do our best to ensure you receive the most financial aid possible!

Fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible (it opens in December for the next fall semester). You must complete the FAFSA to be awarded any DBU scholarships.

In addition to completing your FAFSA, you also now have access to a database of private scholarships through your MyDBU account designed especially for DBU students. Feel free to email any questions to scholarships@dbu.edu.

  • Select the University Housing tile within your MyDBU account
  • Fill-out the Residence Hall University Housing Application in its entirety
  • Upload Shot Records
  • Select an available room

Housing is a self-select process, and specific rooms and arrangements are provided on a first-come-first-serve basis. Have any questions? Get in touch with the University Housing team at (214) 333-5345.

Step 8: Register for SWAT

After NPO in early summer, we know you'll be counting down the days until you're back on campus!

SWAT, or Student Welcome and Transition Week, is that event you'll be eagerly anticipating! Starting with Move-In Day for on-campus students, SWAT is packed with events in the few days leading up to the start of the semester, like Patriot Follies, the Block Party, Service Day, and Candlelighting!

SWAT also gives you a chance to meet new friends and get settled in before classes start the following week! Needless to say, SWAT is a favorite event for every incoming class!

Step 9: Complete your Admissions File

After you graduate high school or finish your current semester, you will need to send your final transcripts to records@dbu.edu. Also, make sure to send all necessary documents to our admissions team, including official SAT/ACT/CLT test scores (if submitting), recommendations for the Christian Leadership Scholarship (if applying), and any other documents your admissions counselor has requested.

Not sure if your file is complete? Give us a call at (214) 333-5360 or email records@dbu.edu.
