First-Year and Transfer Orientation & Registration is for traditional age students who have already been admitted to Dallas Baptist University.
First-Year Orientation and Registration:

Transfer Orientation and Registration:
ATTENTION INCOMING FIRST-YEAR AND TRANSFER STUDENTS:
You are invited to attend Dallas Baptist University's 2016 First-Year and Transfer Orientation & Registration. At DBU, we want to make Orientation & Registration as smooth as possible for our incoming students. We accomplish this by allowing new students to register before returning students. Find the date that works best with your schedule; then click on the date to register.
JUST FOR STUDENTS:
Students will attend sessions on topics such as student life, residence life, and spiritual life, while also getting acquainted with future classmates in a relaxed campus setting. Students will have the opportunity to meet with an academic advisor and register for fall classes during this special orientation and registration event. First-Year Orientation & Registration is an overnight event where students will spend the night in the residence halls. Transfer Orientation & Registration is a daytime event with no overnight stay.
JUST FOR PARENTS:
For parents of First-Year and Transfer students, we have planned sessions concerning student affairs, residence life, academic advising, mission opportunities, financial aid, and much, much more. Parents of First-Year students from out of the area should plan to stay at a local hotel during the First-Year Orientation & Registration event. Transfer Orientation & Registration is a daytime event with no overnight stay.
Electronic Math Advising Tool (eMAT) Requirement
Mandatory Requirement: All students must take the Electronic Math Advising Tool (eMAT) before attending First-Year Orientation & Registration and registering at DBU. Completion of the eMAT is required before a student will be allowed to register for classes. The eMAT is a tool that is used to place students in the appropriate math course during advising, and it is offered online for your convenience at http://webreg.dbu.edu/emathome/emat.html.
FOR MUSIC and MUSIC BUSINESS MAJORS:
Mandatory Requirement: All students majoring in Music or Music Business are required to audition and complete the Music Theory Placement Exam (TPE) before enrolling in Music courses at DBU. The TPE is administered on campus in conjunction with the student's music audition in the Music Department and is used to place students in the appropriate music courses during advising. Auditions and completion of the Music Theory Placement Exam are required in order to be advised and to register for classes. The number of students attending each day is limited. We will do our best to honor your first choice request; however, reservations are on a first come, first serve basis.
Check-in for First-Year Orientation & Registration will begin at 9:00 a.m. in the Crowley Complex on the DBU campus. Check-in for Transfer Orientation and Registration will begin at 9:00 a.m. in the Patty and Bo Pilgrim Chapel on the DBU campus. First-Year Students will participate in sessions from 10:00 AM - 11:00 PM while their parents will participate in specially designed Parent Sessions from 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM. Check-in begins at 9:00 AM in the Crowley Complex.
Parents of Transfer Students will participate in Parent Sessions from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM while their students are advised. Check-in begins at 9:00 a.m. in the Patty and Bo Pilgrim Chapel.
