Transforming Lives
DBU Patriots are out to change the world. DBU not only transforms the lives of its students, it provides opportunities for them to go out into the world and transform the lives of others. In addition to international mission trips, DBU students participate in local service projects. In fact, every freshmen at DBU is required to complete six hours of community service per week and nearly every undergraduate and graduate program incorporates some aspect of service-learning into its curriculum. From the DBU student who helped the malnourished orphan boy in Guatemala take his first steps to sorting clothing and food at Mission Arlington, DBU students learn to transform the lives of others now and for years to come.
“There are many who seek knowledge for the sake of knowledge: that is curiosity.
There are others who desire to know in order that they may be known: that is vanity.
But there are some who seek knowledge in order to edify others: that is love.”
